Welcome to my blog! Although I originally signed on to Twitter in Nov, 2008,
I didn’t get serious about it until January of 2009. It wasn’t a New Year’s
resolution. It was a realization that Twitter was going to be one of the
hottest areas of social media and the internet in general in 2009 and beyond.

That realization came partly because, at one time, I was a professional searcher.
Twitter is a kind of “pulse of society” (credit Gary Vanderchuk). Anyone wanting
to find out what the people are thinking can get a good feel for it by searching
Twitter and its growing slice of society. That society is not confined to the US.
As my follower demographics indicate, Twitter definitely has worldwide reach.

Certainly any business wanting to weather the present economic crisis and grow
into the future must find their way to getting a company finger (or two, or ….)
on that pulse. The good news for them is that there are numerous tools available
for them to use collect information on Twitter users and what they are tweeting
about. Primary among them is Twitter’s own http://search.twitter.com. The challenge for them is primarily how to best prepare to collect, analyze, and
assess the implications of their findings for their business and how to adapt the
operationof their business organization and operations to the new realities of
“bottom-up marketing”.

For that whole world, I am also publishing a Business Twitter Uses blog and will
try to confine this blog more to the more personal aspects of being an avid
tweeter and fan of Twitter. So follow me and I’ll share my personal senior
Twitter experience with you in the hopes you will share your experience in return.
